Kitchen Aid

We checked in with Ela Molczan, co-owner of Allure Day Spa & Hair Design, and her crew for a few at-home beauty concoctions made with simple ingredients right from your pantry.
by Merritt Meyer

Smooth Move
If the weather's turned your skin from baby soft to mock croc, you'll need an exfoliating body scrub to get it supple and silky again. Molczan recommends making your own body scrub by combining one cup of brown sugar, a quarter-cup of milk, and one tablespoon of honey. Mix the ingredients well and apply to the entire body. Leave on lot 10 minutes, then rinse off in the shower.

A Hint of Tint
Looking for an at home recipe to spruce op your hair color? Colorist Joe Cossidenti recommends the following: For brunettes, add one tablespoon of coffee grounds to your daily conditioner, apply, leave in for 15 minutes, then rinse well. For redheads, steep two cups of cranberry or cinnamon tea, let cool, apply to your hair, let sit for IS minutes, then rinse. Blondes should do the same, but with chamomile tea, to give hair a bright shine.

Shine On
To give dry hair some superluster, mix together one avocado, half a banana, and a drop of virgin olive oil. Apply the mask directly to dry hair and let sit for 15 minutes, Rinse well with warm water.
